Working to turn streetlights back on

Andy speaking in Parliament debate on streetlights

On Thursday 17th January I led a debate in Parliament on the turning off of streetlights.

This is an issue of great importance to people across Corby and East Northamptonshire. In 2011, Northamptonshire County Council turned off more than 30,000 lights, approximately half the lights in the county.

Streetlights are essential to our safety and security and I pledged during my by-election campaign to press for them to be turned back on across Corby and East Northamptonshire.

I also want to see more investment in more energy and cost-efficient lighting.

The Corby Telegraph were in Parliament to hear the speech and you can read their report here, or you can read my full speech here.
