Corby ambulance station

Andy met with East Midlands Ambulance Service, EMAS, this week to discuss the future of ambulance services in Corby and East Northamptonshire. The Chief Executive of the Trust confirmed that the plans are to leave Northamptonshire with only three ambulance stations at Brackley, Northampton and Kettering. Andy argued strongly that the review has been badly handled, with poor public consultation. Corby has the fastest growing population in the region, the highest birth-rate, and particular health needs, such as a high rate of chronic heart disease. Andy challenged the EMAS bosses on how the decisions have been made and has written to them following the meeting to demand disclosure of the evidence that underpins the review, such as analysis of current and future needs of different areas of the region.
