    Hi,
I’m sure this is a hot topic! I live on Viceroy close and I’m really concerned with the state of Mountbatten way. the carriageway is falling to bits.

I know that spending is in this area has seen “efficiency savings” but my concern is that the carriageway is no longer providing sufficient skid resistance in the event of an emergency stop. The danger is compounded by the end of school day where children are crossing the roads (between parked cars) and its only a matter of time before something could happen. I would expect the authorities to make the savings using a”risk” based approach where spending would be greater on roads that see greater traffic or where there is a risk to children or the elderly.

Would you be able to discuss this with the council or even raise this to the DFT to ensure that policies reflect the need to make savings without loosing sight of the fact there certain areas where the risk of not doing something out ways the cost.

A challenge which I am sure will take time and commitment to resolve.

    Kindest Regards,

    Andrew
