What you said about the campaign to freeze energy pricesPosted: March 18, 2014
Thank you to all those who took the time to take part in my survey about energy prices.
In total, 183 constituents filled out this survey. The key findings are:
- 80% of respondents say they support my campaign to freeze energy prices for 20 months from May 2015
- 85% of respondents say their energy bills have increased in the last year, with 6 in 10 people saying these increases have been over £50
- Only 15% of people have switched their energy supplier in the last year
- 7 in 10 people pay for their energy bills through an online account
Whilst many local people want to see energy bills frozen from May 2015, the results of this survey show me that we need action now.
This is why over the next few months I am going to work with the utility companies, price comparison sites, local charities and local authorities to organise a ‘Utility Bills Day’ here in Corby and East Northamptonshire where you will be able to receive expert advice and information on reducing your bills – either through using energy or water more efficiently, or switching your supplier.
If you think you would like to come to the Utility Bills Day please enter your details below.
